Review of Liz Perfume for Women, by Liz Claiborne

A long time ago I used to have to pay full retail price for perfume. However ever since a Marshall’s opened up in town, retail prices were prices that only an idiot would pay. Every week Marshall’s has something new, and every week I pick up yet another designer fragrance.

When I picked up Liz, I had no idea that this was a designer fragrance. I got it for $12.00, brand new, and sealed in its box. I figured it was a lower end fragrance. After looking closer though, I noted that Liz, was actually made by Liz Claiborne, and that my $12.00 purchase, usually comes to around $20.00 to $30.00, depending on what size bottle you pick up.

The Bottle:

When I got this one home, I was not sure what to expect. The bottle came packaged in a plain lavender and white colored rectangular shaped box. Nothing really stood out, besides the name that was etched at the bottom of the box.

When I opened the box, I pulled out a long and slender rectangular shaped bottle, with weird little groves pushed into the sides of the bottle. I suppose it’s added so you don’t drop the bottle, the groves give you some grip.

Although the bottle is interesting, it is not one I would keep once the perfume is all used up. It’s a mediocre bottle, and nothing worthy of collecting as far as I’m concerned.

The Scent:

I spray of Liz Perfume for Women, by Liz Claiborne, and I immediately liked it. I was not hooked, nor was it a scent I would go crazy for. It’s just a likable scent.

The first note that hit me was a refreshing one that reminded me of pears mixed with sugar. It’s like a floral scent mixed with a honeysuckle flower that has been doused in powdered sugar. It’s semi juvenile, and one that I recall smelling as a teenager.

It quickly became one of my favorite perfumes as the brand was quite unique and unheard of when it came out and it is to its credit that it quickly captivated everyone with its aroma and Liz is a brand that I continue to use to this day.

The only difference is that this scent will actually last much longer than some body spray I remember from my teen years. I got nearly 5 hours of recognized notes from Liz, and for the price, that’s really decent wear time. I know of high priced perfume that does not even last half that long!

Overall:

For $12.00 I would definitely buy this one again. I like having it on me, and carry it in my bag. I don’t worry about the bottle breaking considering the low price I got it for. It is perfect for day wear, and a scent that many would associate with Spring.

Where To Buy:

If you have a local Marshall’s try to find it there. If not, check online for really low priced deals on Liz.
